The Dr. Ted Leoniak Student Wellness Committee will host the first BRICK DARE TO BE FIT FAMILY WALK FOR FITNESS on Saturday, May 5th from 10 am – noon, rain or shine, at the Drum Point Sports Complex, 303 Brick Blvd. The event is open to all school-age children in Brick Township and their families. There is a $5 entry fee per student (parents and non-school age children are free) with proceeds remaining within each individual school to offset the costs of ongoing fitness and nutrition programs. Volunteers from the Optimist Club will be on hand to record mileage as schools compete to see which one can log the most miles walked. Registrations forms will be available in each school and the deadline for pre-registration is May 1st. Games, drawings and prizes will be a part of this fun day of fitness for the whole family. The BRICK MORNING ROTARY presents their 1st Annual Car Show on May 28th from 12 – 4pm to be held at the Brick Township High School on Chambers Bridge Road. Orecchia, an attorney with CARLUCCIO, LEONE, DIMON, DOYLE & SACKS, LLC, and Nate Brown, a computer consultant, are helping low income or disadvantaged children and their families keep up with the use of computers through donations of computer equipment, education, and training. Through their newly organized nonprofit company, Contributech, five children received Dell computers. They refurbish donated computer equipment and give them to needy children.
