BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF OCEAN COUNTY is proud to announce their very first cookbook.  The Mentoring Cookbook can be purchased for a $14 donation.  This cookbook would make a great gift for friends, family, office staff or yourself.  All proceeds will go to the one-on-one mentoring programs Big Brothers Big Sisters provides to the children of Ocean County .  Cookbooks will be available all year long and all donations are tax deductible.  For more info call Patti at 732-905-5349.

DOTTIE’S HOUSE is a transitional housing facility designed to aid woman and children who have survived domestic violence; proactively helping these families develop the life skills needed to become self-sufficient for their future financial and emotional independence.  Dottie’s House would be grateful for individuals willing to volunteer their time to assist the families & staff in the following areas: Drivers (using house vehicle or their own) M-F 7:30-9:30 am , 2:30-4:00 pm & midday, Sat. transport woman to food store. GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY announced the 14thAnnual Golf Classic to be held on April 27th at Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club in Farmingdale.  Registration begins at 10 am , barbecue & putting green contest at 10:30 , a shotgun start at noon, cocktail reception and silent auction at 5 pm, awards dinner at 6 pm . Throughout the month of January MODC will be collecting unused cell phones for the “Cell Phones for Soldiers” program (www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com) at all MODC events and committee meetings. THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY’S Tides of Change Gala 2009 will be March 27th at Eagle Ridge Golf Club. Cocktails start at 7 pm and guests will enjoy a Casino Night theme with fine dinning, a 50/50 raffle and casino games. The UNITED WAY OF OCEAN COUNTY & OCEAN HEALTH INITIATIVES are joining forces to provide a free income tax return preparation program that will benefit individuals who have earned income.  The Earned Income Tax Credit can lower the amount of taxes due, and potentially increase an income tax refund.  In order to receive income tax credits, state and federal tax returns must be filed.  To help in this process OHI will offer its Toms River facility at 301 Lakehurst Rd. on Tues.
